Research Excellence

The West of Scotland biomedical research community is one of the largest in Europe. In excess of 2600 researchers, working in 4 Universities, and a number of research institutes, work in interdisciplinary science/clinical collaborative networks, further enhancing this critical mass.

The Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde have over 93% of research staff working in subject areas producing international quality research. (2001 RAE results)
