TNI: How to be more innovative

8 June 2006 09.00 - 04.30pm
TNI: How to be more innovative

Scottish Enterprise Technology Park, East Kilbride

Fast, effective innovation

Innovation is critical for today’s successful enterprises. Increased competition, new technologies and more discerning customers mean that we need to innovate to add value to our products, stay ahead of the competition and reduce the cost and time to introduce new products. But sometimes it’s hard to be innovative. We are focused on daily tasks and it’s easier to continue with current processes than learn something new.

TRIZ is the Russian algorithm for "Theory of Inventive Problem Solving" and is a systematic approach to inventive problem solving. Based on the analysis of over 2 million patents, it was discovered that similar problems are solved in different sectors and for different applications.

Key Learnings :

  • Find out about inventive tools you can use every day, such as Functional Analysis, Contradiction Matrix, 39 Parameters and 40 Principles
  • How patterns of innovation repeat and how you can learn from the past
  • How to focus on the ideal final result rather than settle on incremental improvement
  • How to make use of idle resources for an improved outcome at little or no cost

Benefits :

  • Learn how to reduce product or process costs
  • Be more innovative in your produce development process

Approach :

This workshop is hands-on and interactive. We don’t just talk about innovation; we work on examples to show you how TRIZ can be applied in your business. You will leave with the knowledge and tools to use in your organisation.
