Praxis Non-Patent IP Workshop

15 June 2006 10.00-1700
Praxis Non-Patent IP Workshop

City University in London

Non-patent Intellectual Property is of increasing significance in technology transfer. Software copyright, rights in designs and confidential information all feature in commercialisation opportunities, particularly in certain fields (healthcare, process industries and analytical sciences are only a few areas where this is the case).

Course Content

This course will provide delegates with a working understanding of copyright, design, confidential information and trade mark law. The programme will focus on a practical understanding of what is protected, ownership issues relating to non-patent intellectual property, how these rights can be licensed and policing and enforcement issues of relevance to delegates. Case studies and practical exercises will be used to demonstrate how these rights have played a part in successful commercialisation projects.

How to register

Further details and an online registration form can be found at http://www.praxiscourses.org.uk from 24th April. (Follow the links from the Home page or the Courses page). Upon submission of the registration form, you will receive an automatic email notifying you that it has been safely received in the Praxis office.

You will receive a second email confirming whether or not you have been allocated a place during the week ending 12th May 2006. This email will, if appropriate, include further details about accommodation and travel arrangements.

Previous Praxis courses have been heavily over-subscribed, so early registration is advised to secure your place.

Course fees are priced at £175 for the subsidised rate (for all UK: universities; PSREs; NHS; charities and non-profit making organisations) or £225 for the standard rate.
