The West of Scotland has a strong reputation for training life science graduates. The West of Scotland area produces 38% of all Scottish Bio-related first degrees, 3500 bioscience & related graduates per annum. The Scottish Colleges Biotechnology Consortium (SCBC) designs tailored training to suit the needs of the biotechnology industry. The Colleges involved in the initiative span the Scottish central belt, Falkirk, Fife, James Watt Colleges of Further and Higher Education and Bell College.
