Professor Graham Teasdale (Department of Clinical Neuroscience), University of Glasgow, has been awarded a knighthood for services to neurosurgery and victims of head injuries. Professor Teasdale, with fellow neurosurgeon and academic Professor Brian Jennett, developed the Glasgow Coma Scale - a globally-recognised scale of consciousness in coma patients. He is also president of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
