BioReliance Corporation announced on September 23rd that it has completed the acquisition of Q-One Biotech Group Ltd, the Glasgow based provider of biopharmaceutical testing and manufacturing services. The combined international company will operate under the 'BioReliance' name worldwide - in Glasgow and Stirling in the UK, in Worcester and Rockville in the US and in Heidelberg in Germany.
Capers McDonald, President and CEO of BioReliance, said, "We are excited by the opportunity this acquisition and subsequent integration provide for us. We expect to continue high levels of quality, science and customer service for which both our companies have been known. Q-One has been an outstanding service provider and will fit well with BioReliance's already growing US and UK operations."
When Q-One Biotech was founded in Glasgow in 1989 it employed 6 people. By 2003 it had grown to employ 250 people worldwide.
